The coffee history of Senahú, located in the lush Alta Verapaz department, is a story of tradition and the unique “cloud forest” terroir. Developed significantly in the late 19th century—largely influenced by German immigrants who established iconic estates—Senahú has evolved into a premier origin within the broader Cobán coffee region. Unlike the volcanic south, Senahú’s character is shaped by its constant humidity and the famous chipi-chipi mist, which slows cherry maturation and intensifies flavor complexity.
For the home barista, Senahú coffee offers a beautifully balanced profile that excels in both immersion and drip brewing.
